Golf Day raises over £3,000
June 1, 2009
The 6th Annual Vision North Somerset Charity Golf Tournament was held at Worlebury Golf Club on Friday 15th May and despite the customary wet weather the event was a huge success raising £3,096 for the charity. The event organisers, Russ Nickells and Sue Potepa were especially pleased to receive so much support during this difficult economic climate, Sue added “I would like to thank Garry Marks and Worlebury Golf Club for all their help with the event. Like most charities we have been affected and fundraising is certainly challenging, so the support of the local community is more important than ever. This year we are very grateful to have received sponsorship from Tax Assist Accountants, The Old Manor Inn, The Woolpack at St Georges, Brennel Training and North Somerset Business Club.”
The winners of the tournament were “The Skirmishers”, lead by Captain Jock McCracken, with Mike Ham, Martin Stidwell and Ian Roberts. Team Syntema came 2nd, Former World Professional Darts Champion, Bob Anderson, his wife Sally and the Worlebury Ladies and Men’s Captains came 3rd and Team Fore, last year’s winners came 4th.

Mike Walkley who organised the ride with his son Matt said “ We were really pleased with the response for this first Rideout and my thanks
